Algalithe is derived from lithothamnion, a red algae belonging to the corallinaceae family, specifically the Genus Lithothamnion or Phymatolithon, Species calcareum. This seaweed primarily thrives in the North Atlantic Ocean, particularly in seabed areas up to 28 meters deep due to less significant ocean currents. As Lithothamnion grows, it exhibits a remarkable capacity to absorb calcium, magnesium, and various trace elements from its surroundings.
