Mangoselect is a mangosteen extract standardized in naturally occurring α- and g- mangostin functioning synergistically for a rapid and demonstrated joint and muscular pain relief. Mangoselect is characterized by its proprietary composition in α- and g- mangostin and is designed to help to maintain joint health and comfort. Xanthones from Mangoselect have been shown to support a healthy inflammatory response, helping to reduce exercise and overexertion associated inflammation, the features of joints minor aches and pains. Literature reviews report that α- and g- mangostins limit both the production and the activity of the inflammatory enzyme cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2)4,5 that controls the activation of the pro-inflammatory and pro-oxidant transcription factor NF-KB, through the direct stimulation of the peroxisome proliferator activated receptor family (PPARs). α- and g- mangostins also regulate the production of PPARs.
